Growing up in Mountain City, the fiddlers' convention has always held a special place in my heart. Some of the greatest fiddlers in history got their start right here. Mary Rachel and I never dreamed we would be hosting this event but are super excited to breathe some new life into this Northeast Tennessee treasure.

In addition to the traditional cash prize, this year's Fiddle Champion will take home a handcrafted fiddle by renowned bluegrass fiddler, Jason Barie!

The Mountain City Fiddlers' Convention will feature many of the same competition categories as in years past with the addition of a few new ones, too! We also plan to feature a headlining band each year to close out the convention.

We're excited to bring the Mountain City Fiddlers' Convention back to where it all began and celebrate some of the best performers in the region!
Come spend your weekend with us!.png
This year's featured act will be The Little Roy and Lizzy Show from Lincolnton, GA. Many will remember Little Roy from the world-famous Lewis Family. With a career spanning over seven decades, The Little Roy and Lizzy Show are certainly no strangers to the world of bluegrass, old-time, country and gospel music.

The Mountain City Fiddlers' Convention will be held over Labor Day weekend, which is a great time to come and visit our little part of Tennessee. In addition to the Convention, Johnson County Center for the Arts will present "Long Journey Home." There will be plenty of "Buskin on Main Street" on Friday, September 1st, followed by a special unveiling of thei
r new mural featuring Clint Howard. The weekend will continue on Sunday afternoon with special Gospel Singing at Heritage Hall!

Plan to spend the holiday weekend with us. There is plenty to see and do here in Johnson County and you won't find a friendlier place to visit. Y'all come see us!
